Voters of California - Can you hear the giant sucking sound?

Thanks to Ross Perot, for one of my favorite lines . . . about that great big giant sucking sound. I will borrow this classic line for this latest news on California's boondoggle, commonly referred to as Proposition 71.

The Boston Globe reminds to state of Massachusetts, buyer beware. And in my humble opinion, other states should take head too. The Globe says that California's slow successes should be a lesson for them. "Fast results are rare in state-funded research programs"!

To date Californians this is how the gravy train has pumped out our tax payer dollars:

"In April 2006, the agency dispersed its first grants - $12 million to train stem cell researchers at 16 nonprofits. A steady stream of other grants has followed. To date, the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine has approved 156 research grants totaling $260 million, which the institute says is the largest source of funding for embryonic stem cell research in the world. The agency plans to award another $227 million in grants this year for the construction of laboratories at academic and nonprofit research institutions."

And we keep hearing cures, treatments are decades away - if they come at all.

*sigh*
